Personal data Base Camp Vega collects
Base Camp Vega has two sources of personal data, both based on Section 8 of the Personal Data Act.
The primary source of data is the information you provide yourself, mainly through the contact form on Base Camp Vega’s website. The contact form serves as the meeting point between potential/current customers and Base Camp Vega. It is entirely voluntary to fill out this form or simply remain a passive visitor. The information collected via the contact form includes your phone number, email, and name.
Additional personal data may be generated following the use of the contact form through email, phone calls, or similar communication between Base Camp Vega and you as a potential or existing customer.
Another source is data that Base Camp Vega collects itself. This is done via Google Analytics. It collects data such as how long you stay on the site, your IP address, which links you click, and the number of users on the site at various times, among other things.
How Base Camp Vega uses personal data
The purpose of the contact form and subsequent correspondence is to follow up on inquiries and obligations to customers. Base Camp Vega relies on such an open platform between itself and its customers to ensure effective communication and end results.
The purpose of the information collected via Google Analytics is to improve the website experience. This may include making layouts more user-friendly, understanding user trends, increasing efficiency, delivering expected services better, and preventing criminal behavior such as hacking.
The legal basis for Base Camp Vega’s processing of personal data is Section 11 of the Personal Data Act.
How to manage your personal data
The amount of personal data collected by Base Camp Vega is very limited compared to other providers and services. Therefore, personal data settings such as app permissions or ad personalization are not relevant here. As previously mentioned, the data collected is not used for such purposes.
You still have certain rights related to your personal data, which are described below.
Sharing of data with third parties
Base Camp Vega does not share any personal data from the contact form, its own data collections, or any other sources with third parties. If sharing should ever occur, you will always be asked for consent in advance.
Secure storage, deletion, and internal control
In accordance with Section 13 of the Personal Data Act, all personal data received by Base Camp Vega will be archived securely, either by email or on a server, as long as the working relationship between you and Base Camp Vega continues. Once the relationship ends, all communication and personal data will be deleted within two years.
Base Camp Vega has an internal control system to ensure that storage, security, and deletion are handled properly and in line with legal standards.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Act, you as a user or customer of Base Camp Vega have the right to be forgotten, the right to data portability, the right to access, and the right to object to profiling.
The right to be forgotten means you can request deletion of all personal data held by Base Camp Vega. Even without a request, most data will be deleted within two years of your last contact.
The right to data portability means you can request a digital copy of all personal data Base Camp Vega has on you. You may also bring this data to another company, provided it is technically feasible and safe. This applies to data you provided directly, such as through the contact form, or automated data collected during your use of Base Camp Vega’s services.
The right of access means you have the right to see what information Base Camp Vega holds about you.
The right to object to profiling allows you to prevent Base Camp Vega from analyzing your behavior and tailoring its services based on that analysis. Typical examples include personalized advertising, service development, or market research. However, this is not relevant for Base Camp Vega, as the company has limited interest in or use for such in-depth tracking.
To exercise one or more of these rights, please contact us. By law, you are entitled to a response within one month.
Children’s privacy
Base Camp Vega has neither the intention nor the need to collect or process data about children under the age of 16. Such data must come through a parent or guardian.
If Base Camp Vega becomes aware of personal data submitted by a child, that information will be deleted immediately.
Data protection officer
Base Camp Vega does not have a data protection officer, as the company is not a public entity, does not process sensitive data, does not conduct systematic tracking, and does not handle data on criminal offenses.
